Keeping Your Hooded Throw Cozy: Care Guide
☁️ Our Philosophy: Easy Care for Lasting Comfort
Congratulations on choosing the ultimate in cozy comfort! We designed your hooded throw not only to feel luxurious but also to be incredibly easy to maintain. Following these simple steps ensures your Cloud-Touch Sherpa stays plush, soft, and vibrant for years of snuggling.
Washing Instructions (The Basics)
Washing your hooded throw correctly is the key to maintaining its luxurious softness and preventing shedding or pilling.
The Golden Rule: Keep it Cool and Gentle
| Step | Action | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Preparation | Always wash separately or with like colors (especially during the first wash) to prevent color transfer. | Protects the vibrant color and prevents lint from other items from sticking to the Sherpa side. |
| 2. Water Setting | Machine wash on COLD water (30°C / 86°F max). | Hot water damages the synthetic fibers, causing them to pill, mat down, and lose their signature softness. |
| 3. Detergent | Use a mild, liquid laundry detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners. | Fabric softeners coat the fibers, ironically making them feel less soft over time. Bleach will ruin the color and structure. |
| 4. Cycle | Select the Gentle or Delicate Cycle. | Minimize friction and agitation to keep the fibers fluffy and intact. |
🔥 Drying Instructions (The Crucial Step)
High heat is the enemy of synthetic fabrics like your throw's plush fleece and Sherpa.
Always Tumble Dry LOW or Air Dry
Tumble Dry (Recommended): Use the LOW HEAT or AIR-FLUFF setting only. Remove the blanket promptly as soon as the cycle is done, while it is still slightly damp, and give it a shake.
Air Drying: If you prefer, you can line dry. Draped over a rack or line, it should dry relatively quickly due to the lightweight nature of the fabric.
⚠️ HEAT WARNING: Never use high heat. High heat melts and mats down the fibers, ruining the softness and causing permanent texture damage. Do not Iron.
Longevity & Troubleshooting
My throw isn't as fluffy as when I first bought it. What happened?
This is usually a sign that fibers have matted down slightly from either friction or washing with too much detergent.
The Fluff Fix: Try washing it again with only a cup of white vinegar (no detergent!) on the cold/gentle cycle, and then tumble dry on air-fluff/no-heat. The vinegar helps strip away detergent residue that weighs down the fibers, restoring the plushness.
What about static cling?
Our materials are treated to be anti-static, but static can still build up in very dry environments.
The Static Solution: Toss a dryer sheet in with your throw during the low-heat tumble dry cycle, or use a few drops of essential oil on a wool dryer ball.
What should I do if a seam rips or a stitch comes loose?
Your blanket is backed by our One-Year Limited Warranty against manufacturing defects. If a seam comes undone under normal use within the first year, please contact us right away! We will arrange a replacement or repair, reinforcing our commitment to quality.
